DIY Pumpkin Face Mask
Ready to try your hand and make an easy pumpkin face mask at home? I’ve got just the recipe for you!
This recipe goes together in seconds and can be customized for your skin type, allergies, current skin condition, and preferences. The 4 ingredients we’re using are canned pumpkin (for the enzymes + vitamin A), yogurt, oat flour (can use gluten-free if needed), and a few drops of jojoba oil. For the yogurt, make sure it’s plain with no flavors added (or sugar, thickeners, etc…). Less ingredients and purer are better for your skin. For the oat flour, I usually just take my gluten-free oats and whiz them into a powder in my Vitamix blender. I also love that oats can calm any inflammation in the skin, but if you can’t eat oats you could use a fine rice powder or tapioca starch/powder too. You can also use olive, almond, or apricot seed oil in place of jojoba, but I love jojoba because it can work for both dry or oily skin.
Then all you have to do is whisk the ingredients together in a bowl. If it’s a bit too thick you can add a drop of water or a drop more oil. Massage onto a clean face. Let sit 5 to 10 minutes and rinse off.
Pumpkin Face Mask
1 teaspoon plain yogurt (coconut or other)
1 teaspoon canned pumpkin puree (not pie mix)
1 teaspoon oat flour (or tapioca starch/flour)
Several drops jojoba oil
In a small bowl mix ingredients together until smooth. If necessary, add a drop of water or a bit more pumpkin or yogurt. You want it on the thicker side and not runny. You want it to stay on your face and not drip. Gently massage onto clean face and let sit 5 to 10 minutes before removing.
